Cristiano Ronaldo surpasses Kylian Mbappe,Erling Haaland and Harry Kane by breaking a world record on Saturday in Al-Nassr 4-1 win over Al-Taawoun.

In 2023, Ronaldo emerged as the world's leading goalscorer, securing his position by scoring his 54th goal against Al-Taawoun as Al-Nassr triumphed 4-1. This achievement surpassed competitors like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland, with Mbappe and Kane each scoring 52 goals for club and country, while Haaland finished the year with a total of 50 goals. In the bigger picture, Ronaldo's stellar performance marked him as the standout goalscorer globally.



Ronaldo, who is 38 years old, is leading the goal-scoring competition in the Saudi Pro League. He scored 20 goals in 19 games this season and gave nine assists. Al-Nassr is currently in second place, trailing Al-Hilal by seven points, thanks to Ronaldo's impressive performance.

Did you know that in 2023, the Portuguese international scored over 50 goals? Meanwhile, his rival Lionel Messi only scored 28 times in 44 appearances. Messi joined MLS side Inter Miami in the summer and scored 11 goals for them. What's next for Ronaldo?


The ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United player will take a break since the Saudi Pro League is on hold for the Asia Cup 2023. The league will start again in February. However, Al-Nassr will play against Messi's team, Inter Miami, in a friendly match next month.
