Transfer update:Manchester united ready to offer £26m for France Midfielder amid Casemiro and Amrabat struggle

Manchester United is prepared to present a proposal for the French national, Youssouf Fofana, as per sources. With Sofyan Amrabat and Casemiro facing challenges in Erik ten Hag's team, the Monaco standout valued at £26 million could serve as a viable alternative.

Manchester United is set to pursue Monaco's £26 million-rated Youssouf Fofana.

United is actively seeking an additional midfielder due to Casemiro's absence caused by an injury.

Sofyan Amrabat, on loan from Fiorentina, hasn't made a significant impact at United this season.

The midfield hasn't been doing well this season, and Ten Hag is planning to get new players in the upcoming year. As per Caught Offside, the Red Devils are keeping an eye on Fofana to possibly make an offer. At a cost of only £26m, the 24-year-old would be a great deal. Now, Man Utd and Monaco just need to work out an agreement in the next few weeks.

Fofana played a crucial role for Monaco this season, featuring in all 15 of his Ligue 1 appearances. With the right skills, he could excel in English football, but his ability to adjust rapidly to the Premier League remains uncertain. The former Strasbourg player can operate in both central and defensive midfield positions. He has scored one goal and provided three assists in all competitions this season.

Fofana might have difficulty rejecting any interest from Old Trafford, as per the report.

Man Utd hasn't seen the same performance from Casemiro this season compared to last year, as the 31-year-old has struggled to make an impact.

His injury has kept him out since October, leading the Dutch manager to search for a midfielder elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Amrabat, on loan from Fiorentina, hasn't met the expectations United had in mind. The Moroccan player didn't even make the squad for the Red Devils' 3-2 win over Aston Villa. He's now part of his country's Afcon squad and might miss a significant portion of January, potentially up to six games.
