Greenwood is impressing in LaLiga with Getafe

Greenwood, at the age of 22, has played a pivotal role in propelling them to the eighth position in the standings, contributing five goals and four assists.

Getafe is expressing interest in securing a permanent deal for him, while Barcelona is gearing up for a £40m bid, which encompasses the iconic No 10 jersey.

Messi, the Argentine World Cup hero and an eight-time Ballon D’Or winner at 36, departed Barcelona in August 2021, and his number was reassigned to Ansu Fati.

Since Fati's loan move to Brighton in September this year, the No 10 jersey has remained unclaimed.

Barcelona wants to use a certain factor to attract Greenwood to the Nou Camp, forming a striking new lineup.

Greenwood is rejuvenating his career after deciding it was best to leave Manchester United.

In February, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges against Greenwood, including attempted rape and assault.

Manchester United investigated the matter independently and was ready to welcome Greenwood back into the squad.

Initially, there was a plan, but resistance to it in August caused a change in direction. As a result, he departed for Getafe without having been in any matches for 18 months.

Although Greenwood still harbors hope for a future return to United, the likelihood of that occurring is slim.
